About Course

Course starts August 24th

Join Jack Grayle and T. Susan Chang for Godsong, a year-long exploration of Homer’s classic Illiad and Odyssey!

Godsong is unique experience that is an AUDIOBOOK and SPIRITUAL COURSE rolled into one…

This is an online course of 154 videos released over the course of a year from the start of your subscription.

For a full year, Jack Grayle will release a video of himself reading a chapter of Homer every week, gradually working through both Iliad and then Odyssey.

The videos will not only record every word of these magnificent epics, but will provide valuable insight into their historic, cultural, and spiritual context. Learn the way the ancient Greeks thought about fate, destiny, divine epiphanies, and the proper way to invoke gods, daimons, dreams, and the spirits of the dead!

Godsong by Jack Grayle is no dry review of dusty material: It is a tool to discover your spiritual destiny. Achilles’ patron god was Athena. Who is yours? This course provides a means of finding out, and forming a relationship with that divine power…

On the last day of each of each month for the entire year, attendees will receive a devotional hymn written by Jack to honor each of the twelve Olympian spirits, to win their favor and blessings for the entire year.

Attendees will also be able to discuss the material and share their own personal insights with each other in a closed forum that is friendly, courteous, and inspiring.

Additional weekly insights into the original Greek text will be provided by author and classicist T. Susan Chang in the form of user-friendly recordings that provide a deeper understanding of the source material.

Everyone has heard of the wily Odysseus, the shape-changing sorceress Circe, the furious warrior Achilles, and the clever goddess Athena—but few have had the opportunity or time to tackle these texts first-hand. Jack makes it easy: He brings these epics alive with exciting readings that make them enjoyable to listen to and easy to understand.

Readers for the past 2800 years have thrilled to the magic, monsters, witches, warfare, heartbreak, revenge, and redemption that fill these two magnificent epics. Find out for yourself how remarkably fresh they truly are, and why many scholars think of Iliad and Odyssey as being the true cornerstones of Western art.

So join Jack Grayle and T. Susan Chang for the adventure of a lifetime—while meeting new friends, and discovering powerful insights into the gods and goddesses of ancient Greece!
